Kansas Award for Excellence

The Kansas Award for Excellence is the state affiliate of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. There are three levels of awards that schools may receive. In 2002, the Fort Hays State University Justice Studies Program became the first ever department-level program from a university to win the Level I-Commitment to Excellence Award. This award is based upon performance excellence in the area of leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, information and analysis, human resource focus, process management, and business results. The program was awarded the Commitment to Excellence Award again in 2003.
