David Weiden is the Assistant Director of the Docking Institute and is also assistant professor of political science at Fort Hays State University. Before coming to the Docking Institute, he was an assistant professor of political science at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. In addition to being a social scientist, he is an attorney and legal researcher. He has co-authored a book on the Supreme Court as well as presenting numerous papers at various political science conferences. Dave's areas of expertise include public policy, law and courts, and American government. He teaches courses on research methods, the judiciary, state and local government and American politics. At the Docking Institute, Dave is involved with data analysis, survey research and public policy evaluation. Dave received his J.D. from the University of Denver College of Law and attended the University of Texas at Austin for his doctoral training in political science.
