Dr. Roger Schieferecke became  the Director for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science in June of 2014. Dr. Schieferecke received his B.A. in Communication in 1995 from Fort Hays State University. He then went on to receive his M.S. in Communication, also from Fort Hays State University, in 1998. In 2009, Dr. Schieferecke received his Doctorate of Education in Adult and Higher Education from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota. Before coming to the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science, Dr. Schieferecke was Director of Enrollment Services at the University of Louisiana and Director of Admissions at Fort Hays State University.  Dr. Schieferecke resides in Hays, , with his wife, Stephanie, a son and a daughter.

Dr. Schieferecke is a member of the Kansas Association for the Gifted, Talented, and Creative (KGTC), the National Association of Personnel Administrators (NASPA) and the National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools (NCSSS).

Mr. Will Burns

Will Burns became the Assistant Director of Student Services and Academic Advising for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science in June of 2017. He previously held that position during the 2014-2015 school year.  Will received his Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education and Masters of Science in School Counseling, both from Fort Hays State University. Will resides in Hays with his wife, Renee, and their two sons.

Ann Noble became the Financial Administrator for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science in 2008. She received her B.A. in Accounting in 2005 from Fort Hays State University. Prior to that time, Ann worked in the Agriculture Department and the College of Education and Technology at Fort Hays State University. She resides in Hays with her husband, Warren and has three adult children and four grandchildren.

Ann is the Treasurer for the Kansas State Science and Engineering Fair (KSSEF) Board, a member of the Kansas Association for the Gifted, Talented, and Creative (KGTC), the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), and the National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools (NCSSS).  She is also the Financial Administrator of the Science and Mathematics Education Institute (SMEI).

Jared Cook became the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science Coordinator for Marketing and Recruitment in the Spring of 2016. In this role, he helps develop intentional partnerships with high schools and organizations to promote the intellectual capital of Kansas.  Jared graduated in 2013 with a B.S. in Psychology from Rochester Institute of Technology. He received his M.S.E. in Higher Education Student Affairs at Fort Hays State University in May of 2016 and will soon begin to work on his doctorate from the University of South Dakota. Jared resides in Hays.

Melissa Mayers became the Administrative Assistant for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science in July of 2011. Melissa received her  B.B.A. in Business from Fort Hays State University in 2001. She resides in Hays with her husband, John, and two daughters.

Melissa is a member of the and the National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools (NCSSS) and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).

Regina Tolbert became the Graduate Assistant for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science in January of 2016; also serving as the KAMS Summer Academy Director.  She received her BA in Human Resource Management in 2015 from Kansas Wesleyan University. She is currently working towards her Masters of Science in Education with an emphasis in Higher Education Student Affairs.  Regina resides in Hays.

 

 

 

We Couldn't Do It Without Them....Our Student Workers

 

Kyleigh Bartlett is a student worker for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science, which she began in the Summer of 2015. Kyleigh originates from Kansas City and is majoring in Elementary Education.  

Kaelin Leach is a student worker for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science, which he began in the Fall of 2016. Kaelin originates from Hays and is majoring in Graphic Design.

Cody Mikulecky is a student worker for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science, which he began in the Fall of 2016. Cody originates from Englewood, Colorado and is majoring in Business Administration.

Samantha Rohleder is a student worker for the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science, which she began in August of 2014. Samantha originates from Hays and is majoring in Public Relations.
