International Students

Information for Prospective International Students:
- KAMS is a residential learning experience for exceptional students equivalent to United States high school juniors and seniors with interest in mathematics and science on the Fort Hays State University (FHSU) campus in Hays, Kansas, USA
Students will receive:
- College instruction by doctoral-level faculty and 68 hours of college credit
- The option to receive an Associate’s degree upon graduation
- Hands-on research supervised by doctoral-level scientists
- Leadership development & Civic engagement opportunities
- Co-curricular & extra-curricular opportunities to develop the whole student
Student living environment includes:
- Living space in the Custer Residence Hall on the FHSU campus
- Residence Hall rooms will be shared by two KAMS students
- Males and females will reside on different wings of Custer Hall
- Males are not allowed in the female students’ living space; Females are not allowed in the male students’ living space
- FHSU offers a safe campus and residential environment
- Trained support staff will live in the residence halls with students
Students will be supervised by the staff which includes:
- Evening curfews
- Permission to leave campus
- Regulated visitation by guests
Academic Requirements include:
- Candidates must have ONE of the following minimum TOEFL scores:
- Paper-based test (pBT) score of 540 or
- Computer-based test (cBT) score of 220 or
- Internet-based test (iBT) score of 70
- Candidates must have ONE of the following minimum ACT or SAT scores:
- ACT: 23 (composite) or
- SAT: 1060
