Miller Analogies Test (MAT) Information

If you are applying to a graduate program, you may be required to take the Miller Analogies Test (MAT).  The MAT is used by many universities to help predict your potential for success with graduate-level studies.

Scheduling an Appointment

Testing Services administers the MAT by appointment. To schedule an appointment or get additional information on test requirements, fees and policies, please contact our office.  For optimum availability, we recommend that you contact us two weeks prior to a desired test date.

Overview of the Test

The MAT is a high-level, analytical ability test that requires the solution of problems stated as analogies. The test consists of 120 partial analogies that you have 60 minutes to complete. The test measures your ability to recognize relationships between ideas, your fluency in the English language and your general knowledge of the humanities, natural sciences, mathematics and social science.
