DANTES Subject Standardized Tests
(DSSTs)
DSSTs are administered by appointment. For optimum
availability, a two-week notice prior to a desired test date is
recommended. Information on test requirements, fees, and policies
is available by contacting Testing Services.
The DSST program provides an opportunity
for students to obtain college credit for what they have learned
outside the traditional classroom perhaps from reading, on-the-job
training, or independent study. The DSST program is used by colleges
and universities to award college credit to those who demonstrate
that they have knowledge comparable to someone who completed the
classroom course in the subject. DSSTs offer students a cost effective,
time saving way to used their knowledge acquired outside
of the classroom to accomplish their educational goals.
