Fort Hays State University is committed to the support of small businesses and to maintaining & growing the economy of the region, specifically north central and northwest Kansas. FHSU can effectively provide business support through a regional center at FHSU in Hays and an Outreach center in Bird City. The capacity of two centers provides broad access and quick response to business needs within the entire region.
The regional center office is responsible for service support for the entire twenty-one (21) county area. Although you may contact the regional center office regardless of your location you will receive priority response if you contact the center nearest you.
The FHSU regional center provides priority service to: Barton, Ellis, Gove, Osborne, Pawnee, Phillips, Rooks, Rush, Russell, Smith, and Trego counties.
The Bird City Outreach center provides priority service to: Cheyenne, Decatur, Graham, Logan, Norton, Rawlins, Sheridan, Sherman, Thomas, and Wallace. The Bird City Outreach center is the result of a partnership of: Bird City Century II Development Foundation; NW Kansas Planning & Development Commission & Pioneer Country Development Inc, and Fort Hays State University.
