Counselors can receive up to 3 Credit Hours of major elective credit from the Department of Leadership Studies. In order to receive this credit, you must participate in both camps. You must be a student from Fort Hays State University to enroll in these courses for the summer semester. If you have any questions regarding the enrollment process, please call our office at 785-628-5399.

1. Please describe any experiences or responsibilities you may have with other camps or working with youth in grades 6-12 (i.e. Leadership, Scouts, School, or Sports Camps).
   
2. As a counselor, you would be in charge of 5-10 middle or high schoolers. If one of those students was being disruptive to the point of preventing the rest of the group from concentrating on the activity or lesson, how would you handle the situation?
   
3. Why do you want to be a counselor for KYLA? What contributions do you think you can make to the camp as well as the students? (i.e. talents, hobbies, etc.)
   

4.During the KYLA residents camps you will be required to be around the campers at all times displaying teamwork and being a positive role model. How do you see yourself fitting into this environment?
