Current Major: Organizational Leadership and Political Science

Year at FHSU: Senior

"The faculty in the department are passionate about what they teach, and inspired in me that same passion to change the world. I would encourage everyone to get involved in the Department of Leadership Studies in some manner, because it can change your life and how you look at the world.”

Chelsey Gillogly, December Student of the Month

Chelsey Gillogly was chosen as the December Student of the Month for the Department of Leadership Studies. Ms. Gillogly has been an active member at FHSU since she began her collegiate career. She has always been involved in countless student organizations across campus. She is currently the President of the Student Government Association, where she works daily to carry out their mission of, “serving, protecting, and promoting the interests and rights of FHSU students.” When time permits, she works with the Kansas Youth Leadership Academy (KYLA) and Tigers in Service.

Ms. Gillogly’s schedule doesn’t leave much free time, but when it does, she loves to spend time with friends and family. She loves to go dancing, watch movies, and get in an occasional game of pitch. If she is with friends or family, chances are she is having the time of her life!

When asked why she chose the Department of Leadership Studies, Chelsey stated that, “to get involved in the Leadership Studies department was the easiest choice I ever made and one of the best choices I’ve ever made. Upon graduation from high school, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, but I knew that I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives and live a life of servitude. The department afforded me that opportunity. The faculty in the department are passionate about what they teach, and inspired in me that same passion to change the world. I would encourage everyone to get involved in the Department of Leadership Studies in some manner, because it can change your life and how you look at the world.”
