| Internship Opportunities for Leadership Students
 |
Internships in Leadership Studies are designed to provide learning opportunities beyond the classroom by linking leadership theory with practice. This hands-on experience allows students to reflect and act upon what they have learned about leadership behavior and test those concepts in “real world” situations. Activities involve practical experience in an organization that allows a student to exercise, observe, and appreciate leadership behaviors. |
Internships include the following four essential components: an opportunity for leadership from the student; participation in a task that is important to the organization; collaboration with others; and observation of someone in a leadership capacity.
The Internship in Leadership Studies course, LDRS 677, is a requirement for all BA/BS Organizational Leadership majors. This course is optional for students pursuing a Minor in Leadership Studies (21 credit hour program) and the BGS Degree in Organizational Leadership.
The Department of Leadership Studies is providing the following information to serve as a resource for students in search of internships. Many of the following organizations have shown interest in finding interns, or have had FHSU students as interns in the past. However, the Department of Leadership Studies does not specifically endorse any of these internship programs. For more contact information for any of these specific companies, please contact the Leadership Studies Department at (785) 628-4303 or send an email to fhsuleaders@fhsu.edu.
Organizations interested in listing internships on this website are welcome to submit their information to fhsuleaders@fhsu.edu.
