| The Leadership Studies Association (LSA) is an organization that provides students with opportunities to develop their leadership skills. By incorporating three major themes (creating change, collaborative leadership, and civic leadership) into their activities, LSA seeks to enrich the learning experience well beyond the academic classroom environment. LSA also prioritizes advocacy for the development of campus and community leaders in coordination with the Department of Leadership Studies and Center for Civic Leadership at Fort Hays State University.
When asked about LSA, the 2007-2008 President, Savannah Hall, said, "We are a fun-loving group of students that wants to make positive changes to benefit students on the Fort Hays State campus and in our larger community.”
The 2007-2008 VP for Administration, Kennedy Hansen, added, "LSA is a way for students to get involved in the leadership opportunities that are out there. We are really excited about the organization and have a great group of people who want to make a difference and start something big."
LSA invites all who are interested in leadership and want to make a difference in their university and community to attend their bi-weekly meetings. The meetings take place every other Monday throughout the semester in McMindes East Living Room at 7:30 p.m. Bring a friend and bring some fun because these meetings do not “play by the rules.”
