Meet the November 2016 Students of the Month

On-Campus Student: Kaylie Towles

Kaylie is a 5th year senior from Wichita earning a degree in Organizational Leadership. She is very involved on campus; she is a member of Delta Zeta sorority, First Year Experience, Stripes for Hope, Encounter, and Tigers in Service. Outside of school she likes to spend time with friends, craft, watch movies, go to church, and attend events on and off campus. Kaylie got involved with the department because wanted to help people on a personal level that enriches their lives. She also saw how friendly the faculty and staff were while hearing a few friends talk about their experiences in the department. So far, Kaylie's favorite class has been LDRS 420- Women and Leadership. She didn't realize the craving she had for learning about the struggles women have gone through until taking this course. From taking this class she understands the injustices of the world and will fight to educate all people on current issues; she says her views on the world have changed for good because of this class.

Virtual Student: Ryan Strutt

Ryan is a junior from Phillipsburg seeking a degree in General Studies with a concentration in Organizational Leadership. Outside of school he likes to spend time with his 2 sons and daughter at the local park in McPherson where he currently lives. He also enjoys biking around town. Ryan wanted to get involved with the department because he wanted his studies to have a direct impact on his career. The classes he has taken are the most relevant and appropriate courses he has ever taken. He also says the benefits of these classes are instant and come with interest. According to Ryan, his leadership courses have reshaped the way he views everyone around him in a good way. Ryan's favorite class so far is LDRS 302- Introduction to Leadership Behaviors and LDRS 306 Leadership and team Dynamics. He says this semester, in those classes, he has been able to build n a solid foundation in understanding leadership and began applying what he has learned in the workplace
