All equipment is due back at the time specified and agreed upon at check-out. This is usually 72-hours from check-out, but may be revised in special circumstances.

Equipment may be renewed in person for a total of three consecutive check-outs.
Failure to officially renew an item will result in fines if the item is returned late.
Renewals are not guaranteed unless a reservation has been previously made.

Fines are assessed at $5 per hour or portion up to a daily maximum of $30. However, if an item has accrued the daily maximum in fines and it is returned BEFORE 5pm, the daily fine will be reduced to $25.
At the time of checkout, you will sign an agreement stating the return time for the equipment. If the equipment is not returned by that agreed upon time, fines will be charged to your account.

It will be the responsibility of the borrowing student to pay the replacement or repair cost on any equipment that is returned damaged or is not returned.

Items are the responsibility of the student who checks them out until they are checked in and verified by a TLC staff person.

If you make a reservation, you must contact us us if you are unable to make it at the pre-arranged time OR you no longer want to borrow the equipment. If you repeatedly make reservations you do not honor, your reservation privileges will be suspended.

You have the best chance of getting the equipment you want if you make a reservation. There is no limit to reservations/term unless the TLC staff feels that the privilege is being abused.
Most equipment goes out on Monday for a 3-day loan. That means it comes back Thursday. You have a chance of getting the equipment you want if you come by on a Monday or Thursday.
The TLC staff is happy to help you with any of our equipment - just ask!
If you're borrowing a video camera, you may need additional equipment to record or transfer data.
