Zotero FAQs

1. Is there a list of all the sites that allow auto-entry into Zotero?

   
   Zotero lists many "translators" or sites that allow automatic download of data. However, the list is not complete - if you're curious about a site, try it!

2. Does Zotero have a support site?

   
   Yes - just go to www.zotero.org/support.

3. Can I see Zotero tutorials or screencasts?

   
   Yes - go to the tutorials section of their website at http://www.zotero.org/support/screencast_tutorials

 

4. Where is my Zotero library saved?

   
   Your default library directory your Firefox Profiles folder.
   To find the directory, click the gear button   then Preference -> Advanced -> Show Data Directory

 

5. Can I set a different folder for my Zotero library? How?

   
   Yes, you can.
   If you have already saved items in your previous location, please export your library first before you change your library directory.
   After you changed your library directory, you can then import back the exported file from your previous directory.
   To change your library directory, click the gear button   and then click Preference -> Advanced, under Storage Location click Choose button to select your preferred directory for your library.
   A small pop up window asks you to restart Firefox,
   
   
   
   Click Restart now button, the library directory is changed as you chose.

 

6. How can I uninstall Zotero from my Firefox?

   
   Tools -> Add-ons when the Add-ons window pop up, select Zotero and then click Uninstall. Please also delete all files in your Zotero library directory (to find out the directory see above 1).
   
   

 

7. How can I uninstall Zotero Word plug-in?

   
   Find your Word plug-in file under Word STARTUP folder (see above 3) and delete the Zotero.dot file.
