Metro State Fast Track Admission

Fort Hays State University welcomes you as a Metropolitan State College (Metro State) student to a high quality and very competitively priced Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. The two universities have developed a unique program designed to benefit Metro State undergraduate students who are interested in a graduate degree in business.

Metro State business graduates have an opportunity to obtain automatic admission to the Master of Business Administration program at Fort Hays State University. This is a streamlined admission program designed to benefit Metro State students. If you meet all three of the following requirements, you will be automatically admitted to the MBA program:

• Score a 990 or above on the MBA admission formula:
  • 200 x undergraduate G.P.A. + Official GMAT score = 990 or above


• An undergraduate bachelors degree from Metro State in one of the business disciplines from the College of Business, a degree from the Department of Hospitality, Tourism and Events, or a degree in Health Care Management (non-business degrees may require foundation business courses). Metro State students graduating from other academic areas are encouraged to apply and will be considered in the standard application process.


• Completion of all admission application materials.
  • Metro State students meeting the automatic formula are exempt from submitting their personal statement, resume and recommendation letters.
  • Students not meeting the 990 admission formula may apply by submitting the full application. These applications will be reviewed by the MBA committee.

The FHSU MBA program consists of 34 credit hours and includes concentrations in Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, Leadership Studies, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Information Assurance, and Management Information Systems.
