Leadership Transformation: Understanding Your Leadership Style

Overview

Leadership transformation is a process that changes individuals and organizations. It focuses on values, ethics, standards and long-term goals, and it includes understanding employees and helping them reach their full potential. This interactive session provides you with an evaluation of you current leadership style and assists you in developing strategies for more effective leadership in the workplace.

 

Learning Objectives

During the workshop, you will:

  • Understand effective transformational leadership and how it can contribute to positive organizational outcomes
  • Develop awareness of your transformational leadership style
  • Create action steps to incorporate transformational leadership behaviors into your work life

Target Audience

This workshop on understanding leadership styles is ideal for anyone currently leading or managing people within the workplace. This is also an excellent workshop for those transitioning into middle-management roles such as team leaders or supervisors.

 

Workshop Materials

All participants will receive Kouzes and Posner's 2003 Leadership Practices Inventory (LPI) Leadership Development Planner, LPI Self Inventory and LPI Quick Reference Card.
 

 

Your Facilitator

Dr. Brent J. Goertzen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Leadership Studies at Fort Hays State University. He frequently teaches classes on topics such as leadership in teams, organizational leadership and fieldwork in leadership. His research interests include the evaluation of leadership effectiveness, organizational leadership and leadership in teams. Dr. Goertzen has provided training for local organizations including Nex-Tech, the Small Business Development Center, the Kansas Environmental Leadership Program and the Western Kansas Society of Human Resource Managers (WKHRMA)..
