Communication and Coaching Skills in the Workplace

Overview
Communication and coaching skills are vital to your success as a manager and leader in the workplace, impacting relationships and contributing to the overall success of the organization. This workshop will help participants understand what drives their behavior and the behavior of others when communicating with and coaching people in the workplace.
The workshop includes two assessments, "What's My Communication Style" and "What's My Coaching Style," followed by activities that allow to apply the techniques introduced in the workshop and experiment with assessing the communication and coaching simulations of other participants.
Learning Objectives
During the workshop, you will:
- Understand how communication impacts our relationship with others.
- Learn about the different types of communication.
- Understand the four communication styles.
- Identify your personal communication style.
- Discover a quick way to identify the styles of others.
- Understand how to use communication styles to improve communication with others.
Target Audience
This workshop is for anyone (men or women) interested in developing their leader-manager-follower skills to be more effective in their current positions.
Your Facilitator
Dr. Kyle B. Stone is the Director of the Management Development Center and an Assistant Professor at Fort Hays State University in the College of Business and Entrepreneurship, currently teaching in the Department of Management and Marketing. His research interests include human resource development, lean thinking, organizational development and change management. His industry experience spans twenty years in automotive and utility truck manufacturing and operations management.
