Admittance Requirements

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredit or otherwise approved school, with a 2.5 GPA in the last sixty hours of the Bachelor's degree.  A completed application file includes application, payment of application fee, at least two letters of recommendation sent in behalf of the applicant, the applicant's personal statement, and transcripts sent to the Graduate School at FHSU by the school that awarded the Bachelor's degree to the applicant.

  • IDS 801 Introduction to Graduate Liberal Studies (1 Credit Hour) - available online (every semester) and on campus (once a year)
  • IDS 802 Ways of Knowing in Comparative Perspective (3 Credit Hours) - available online (every semester) and on campus (once a year)
  • IDS 803 Origins and Implications of the Knowledge Society (3 Credit Hours) - available online (every semester) and on campus (once a year)
  • IDS 804 Information Literacy (3 Credit Hours) - available online (every semester) and on campus (once a year)
  •    THE 18-HOUR CONCENTRATION (six of the following classes - work with the Faculty Advisor to make the selections)
  • INF 633 Advanced Video Production (3 Credit Hours) - available on campus (prerequisite or leveling course: INT 348 Beginning Video - 3 hrs)
  • INF 634 Graphics and Effects for Video and Film (3 Credit Hours) - available every other Spring
  • INF 636 Computer Editing of Video (3 Credit Hours) - available online 
  • INF 638 Intensive Video Production (3 hs) - available on campus
  • INF 678 Seminar: Project Management (3 Credit Hours) - available online
  • MUS 678 Seminar in Music Technology I (3 Credit Hours) - available online 
  • MUS 688 Seminar in Music Technology II (3 Credit Hours) - available online 
  • COMM 675 Playwriting/Screenwriting (3 Credit Hours) or an acceptable alternative
  • ENG 675 Playwriting/Screenwriting (3 Credit Hours) or ENG 602 Topics in Screenwriting(3 Credit Hours)
  • IDS 880 Seminar in Liberal Studies (3 Credit Hours) or an acceptable alternative 

Students completing their MLS program in this concentration will have the following notation on their transcripts: "Liberal Studies (Digital Cinema Production)."
