Program Description
From the Department's website: "The Communication
Studies Department offers a broad range of courses leading to the
Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees. Courses focus on
human communication behaviors. Coursework is designed to improve
oral message sending and relational communication skills, to foster
creative dramatic talents, to develop journalistic skills, to promote
expertise in public relations, and to prepare teachers of communication
and theatre."
Program Curriculum
The MLS degree program consists of a minimum of 31
hours of graduate work and is structured accordingly. The degree
requirements include the following:
10 semester credit hours in core curriculum:
IDS 801 Introduction to Graduate Liberal Studies
IDS 802 Ways of Knowing in Comparative Perspective
IDS 803 Origins and Implications of the Knowledge
Society
IDS 804 Information Literacy
To complete the 18-hour
