Bachelor of Music in Composition

Ever wanted to write your own music, or aspire to continue your education in graduate school? The department offers an accredited Bachelor of Music in Composition degree.

Composition study also fulfills an upper division elective course requirement for students in the Bachelor of Arts in Music and Bachelor of Music in Performance degree programs.

Students must take Major Ensemble for eight semesters. Private instruction in the applied area must be taken for a minimum of four semesters, in addition to two semesters of private piano. Students whose applied instrument is piano must take a minimum of 6 semesters of piano.
