The FHSU Composition Program
Welcome to the FHSU Composition program page!
The
department offers an accredited Bachelor of Music in Composition degree.
Composition study also fulfills an upper division elective course
requirement for students in the Bachelor of Arts in Music and Bachelor of Music in Performance degree programs.
Courses
MUS 666 Composition I+
(1-3) Art music composition for smaller instrumental/ vocal media.
MUS 667 Composition II +
(2) Composition in small instrumental and vocal media. Requisites:
PR, MUS 283.
MUS 676 Advanced Composition +
(1-3) Art music composition for larger instrumental/ vocal media.
Requisites: PR, MUS 283 and MUS 666 (taken at least two semesters)
and MUS 661 and PERM.
Spectrum Concert Series
Spectrum is a concert produced each semester in the Department of
Music of original solo and small chamber music compositions by FHSU
students. Concerts are presented in Palmer Recital Hall.
