Hailed by The Boston Musical Intelligencer as a 'young artist who performs with verve and highly polished virtuosity', Shokhrukh Sadikov enjoys an exciting career as a conductor, violist, and music educator. Recently appointed Assistant Professor of upper strings and orchestra director at Fort Hays State University, Mr. Sadikov also serves as music director of the Hays Symphony Orchestra. He regularly performs recitals in Germany, Uzbekistan, and the United States, and recently played his Carnegie Hall debut.

Mr. Sadikov appeared as a conductor, soloist, and principal violist with the National Symphony Orchestra and the National Radio Chamber Orchestra of Uzbekistan. He also conducted ensembles such as the Berlin Sinfonietta, the ICM Chamber Orchestra, and Medomak Symphony Orchestra among others. Mr. Sadikov performed in festivals that include Sarasota, Halcyon, Killington, and Vladimir Spivakov's "Moscow Meets Friends". He produced two recordings with the rapper Tech 9 under the Strange Music label, and recorded a CD of viola sonatas by Brahms and Rebecca Clarke.

As a founder member of Wakarusa Trio, Mr. Sadikov is a first prize winner of the Coleman Chamber Music Competition, American Protégé International Competition and MTNA Competition, as well as a Bronze medalist at the Chamber Music Foundation Competition of New England. As a soloist, he is a laureate of several international competitions such as the 2005 Competition of the Republic (Uzbekistan) and the 2006 International Competition in Almaty (Kazakhstan).

Mr. Sadikov began playing the violin at age seven and studied at the Uspensky State School of Music and the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. He played in master classes for Kim Kashkashian, Paul Neubauer, Paul Coletti, Robert Vernon, and Maestro Michael Stern. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Park University's International Center for Music (studies with Martin Storey, Daniel Veis, and Ben Sayevich) as well as Master's degrees from the University of Kansas and the Detmold Hochschule fur Musik (studies with Peter Chun, David Neely, and Diemut Poppen). Mr. Sadikov taught at Park University’s Youth Conservatory, Ioudenitch Academy of Music and Arts, and worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Kansas in addition to giving numerous master classes.

Upcoming engagements include conducting the opening season of NAVO, the National Symphony in Tashkent, an invitation to conduct the Orquestra Sinfonica de Piracicaba in Brazil, the release of a second solo CD that includes the world premiere recording of Ingrid Stolzel ‘here there’, as well as several solo and chamber music recitals.
