Cellist Benjamin Cline enjoys an active career as a teacher and performer. He is a founding member of the Matisse PianoTrio, and has performed in numerous venues in the United Stated, Italy, and Taiwan. He has appeared as soloist with several orchestras, including the Kaohsuing City Symphony Orchestra, Greeley Chamber Orchestra, Salina Symphony Orchestra, and Hays Symphony Orchestra. He was featured on WXXI “Live from Hochstein” in Rochester, and has collaborated with many noted musicians, including Yumi Hwang-Williams, Richard Fuchs, Tali Morgulis, Jun Iwasaki, Theodor Kuchar, and Sarah Crocker.
Cline currently teaches Fort Hays State University as Assistant Professor of Cello and Bass, Director of Orchestras, and serving as Department Chair. Previously, he was the Visiting Professor of Cello at the University of Northern Colorado. He earned his bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Northern Colorado, where he studied with Jim Fittz, and later studied with Alan Harris at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
