Prior to his appointment at FHSU, Dr. Weaver served as assistant band director at the University of Notre Dame and as a music pastor. Dr. Weaver has traveled with athletic bands to some of the greatest collegiate football and basketball venues in the SEC, Big 12, Big Ten, Big East and the former PAC-10. His international concert appearances as a conductor and trombone soloist include performances in Australia (Sydney Opera House), New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, England, Ireland, and Canada. Dr. Weaver is an active arranger of athletic band and brass choir music and is published in the second volume of Teaching Music Through Performance in Beginning Band. He recently presented a workshop on singing in the instrumental classroom at the Kansas Music Educators Association In-Service Workshop, and is active in Kansas and Nebraska as a guest conductor and adjudicator. Originally from Idaho, Dr. Weaver holds a Bachelor of Music in music education from Utah State University, a Masters of Music in trombone performance from the University of Notre Dame, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in wind conducting from the University of Kentucky.
