High Plains Marching Festival
The High Plains Marching Festival is a wonderful opportunity for high school marching bands to showcase the hard work they have put in all season. We feature a wide variety of band sizes and school classifications. The event is especially valuable for new marching bands looking for a great first festival experience.
Every year we also enjoy hosting high schools and middle schools who come to
observe the festival.
This year's festival promises to be another great event. It will take place on Monday, October 21, 2013, at Lewis Field Stadium at FHSU. To enter as participants or observers, please complete the application available below.
2013 High Plains Marching Festival Application
The High Plains Marching Festival will use a six judge format. All bands will be adjudicated by: two Music judges, one General Effect judge, one Marching judge, one Percussion judge, and one Auxiliary judge. The percussion and auxiliary ratings will not be used to compute the final rating; however, we will recognize outstanding performances in these areas. All bands participating on the field will be included in the awards ceremony at the end of the festival.
NOTE: All judges will be requested to provide both written and recorded comments for each band. Bands will be scheduled by size, but we will also do our best to honor special scheduling requests submitted in advance. The entry fee will be also be due by September 30, 2013, unless other arrangements are made with Lane Weaver. General admission is $3 for all students with a student ID $5 for adults. The concession stand at Lewis Field will be open during the festival.
