Color Guard

Overview
The Color Guard is an auxiliary of the
Tiger Marching Band, and it's a great way to be part of the marching
band without playing an instrument! The color guard members
are the people who you see spinning and sometimes tossing flags,
rifles, sabers or other various props while the band is playing.
The color guard adds to the color & visual presentation
of the marching show.
We have room for as many
as 24 members every year and really want to expand this branch of
the program. If you are interested, experienced or not, we encourage
you to find a friend and join together to make next year's color
guard a huge success!
In coming seasons, an increased amount
of dance and collaboration with the Tiger Debs will be incorporated
into the program in addition to the spinning of equipment. Membership
is open to both males and females, and there is guaranteed scholarship
money available. In addition the size of the stipend will increase
each year you are a member. Please see our scholarship link for
details.
There are no auditions,
but there will be an organizational meeting during Spring Semester
2008 for the coming Fall 2008 Season. The Color Guard will
attempt to meet several times on a voluntary basis
during the Spring '08 and Summer '08 Semesters in order to develop
the necessary basic technique program.
All you have to do is sign up for MUS-601
Marching Band/Symphonic Winds for Fall Semester, section A-B-or
C for 2,1,or 0 credits accordingly. Be sure to check
this site for information about the color guard. If you have any
questions, please contact Gary Brattin
at gtbrattin@fhsu.edu or
call 785-628-5353 today.
