Dr. Laura Andrews is Associate Professor of Music Education, specializing in elementary music education. Additionally, she supervises students enrolled in Early Field Experience and directed teaching. She holds a BM in Piano Pedagogy from Auburn University, an MM in Music Education from East Carolina University and a PhD in Music Education from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Prior to joining the faculty at FHSU, she taught elementary music in Wilmington, North Carolina for six years and elementary music methods for three years while a graduate teaching assistant at UNCG.

Dr. Andrews is co-author of Integrating Music and Reading Instruction: Teaching Strategies for Upper Elementary Grades, published by MENC. Her work has been presented at professional music and reading conferences in North Carolina and Kansas.
