First Prize winner of 2003 Stanislav Stancic International Piano
Competition in Zagreb (Croatia), Tali Morgulis was also awarded
the Special Prize for the best performance of a Classical Composition
and the Award for Highest Artistic Achievements from Zagreb Academy
of Music. Ms. Morgulis’ additional most recent awards included
2nd Prize at the Pinerolo and 3rd Prize at Jaen International Piano
Competitions in Italy and Spain respectively, as well as Audience
Award and the 3rd Prize at the Ima Hogg Young Artists Competition
in Houston, TX.
Tali Morgulis has appeared in Italy, Belgium, Switzerland,
Croatia, Israel and the United States as soloist and chamber musician.
Her orchestra performances included Rachmaninov 3rd Concerto with
the Thüringen Philharmonie (2004 and 2006) in Germany and with
Haifa Symphony Orchestra in Israel, as well as appearances with
Padova and Veneto Orchestra in Italy, Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra
in Croatia and Malaga Symphony Orchestra in Spain. Tali’s
piano solo CD, consisting of works by Rachmaninov, Janacek, Shostakovich
and Lutoslawski was released in 2006 under IPA label in Vienna.
In addition to her appearance on WQXR Radio of the “New York
Times” in 2004, Tali was featured by WGBH Classical radio
in Boston with live solo recital.
Dedicated collaborative artist, Ms. Morgulis was invited
to perform Schumann Piano Quintet with the Borromeo Quartet in their
Jordan Hall concert in 2002 and since March 2003 has joined Jupiter
Chamber Players in NYC for their concert series. For eight consecutive
years Tali Morgulis served as a faculty pianist for the “Keshet
Eilon” International Violin Master Classes in Israel (under
the patronage of Maestro Shlomo Mintz, with whom Tali collaborated
in several concerts). She was also invited to coach and perform
chamber music at “Apple Hill” International Festival
in NH. In the summer of 2003 Ms. Morgulis participated in the International
Piano "Meranofest" in Italy and in “Paxos”
International Chamber Music Festival in Greece, which every summer
welcomes small group of distinguished young musicians from all over
the world for their concerts on Paxos Island.
A native of Ukraine, Tali immigrated to Israel at
the age of 15 and continued her music education at the Haifa Conservatory.
She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Samuel
Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv and a Doctorate in Piano Performance
from the New England Conservatory in Boston, MA. Tali Morgulis has
studied with Michael Boguslawsky, Wha Kyung Byun and Lev Natochenny.
America-Israel Cultural Foundation has been generously supporting
Ms. Morgulis’ studies for over ten years.
In addition to her musical activities, Tali
loves dancing Salsa, she takes an intensive ceramics class and tries
to find time to work on her communication skills in French.
