Lane Weaver directs Fort Hays State University's Athletic Bands, Symphonic Winds, and Brass Choir and teaches the Low Brass Studio. Prior to joining the FHSU faculty, Mr. Weaver directed various athletic bands and concert ensembles at the University of Kentucky while working on his doctoral studies. Additionally, Mr. Weaver spent five years as Assistant Band Director at the University of Notre Dame where responsibilities included directing the University Band, teaching low brass, directing Basketball and Hockey Bands, directing the Brass Ensemble, and assisting with Notre Dame's Marching Band - the famous "Band of the Fighting Irish."

Mr. Weaver has traveled with athletic bands to some of the greatest collegiate football and basketball venues in the SEC, Big Ten, Big East and Pac-10. Highlights include performances at the Fiesta Bowl, Gator Bowl, Music City Bowl, Insight Bowl, and the 2001 Division I Women's Basketball National Championship. International concert appearances as a conductor and soloist include concerts in Australia (Sydney Opera House), New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, England, Ireland, and Canada. His writing has been published in the second volume of the Teaching Music Through Performance in Beginning Band series.

Originally from Idaho, Mr. Weaver holds a Bachelor of Music degree in music education from Utah State University, a Master of Music degree in trombone performance from the University of Notre Dame, and has finished coursework toward a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in wind conducting at the University of Kentucky.
