Dalcroze Workshop for Arts Educators


Dr. David Frego, Associate Professor at The Ohio State University, will be presenting a Dalcroze Workshop open to all arts educators, June 9-12, 2008 from 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center. Participants will be engaged ear training, eurhythmics (exercises for the physical response to music), and improvisational activities that comprise this method. Arts educators at all levels of instruction are encouraged to participate.


College Credit Offered:


Undergraduate Credit (MUS 679 Topics in Music: Dalcroze): 2 hours


Graduate Credit (MUS 679 Topics in Music: Dalcroze): 2 hours. Additional written project required.

Parking: Parking Permits are required to park on campus and may be purchased in the Office of University Police, located in the Brooks Building. A one-week permit is $5.00; a full term permit is $10.00.


Housing: On-campus housing will be limited in June due to renovations to several residence halls. Summer 2008 housing applications will be accessible online on, but not before, March 26, 2008. For additional information regarding housing, please go to the following website:

Note: Please dress comfortably; we will be moving and dancing every day! Cool, light-weight clothing is recommended and we will remove footwear.
