The
12th Annual FHSU Honor Orchestra Festival is a major string festival
comprised of the best and brightest aspiring high-school string
players from around the Kansas region. Sponsored by the FHSU string
faculty and the Hays Symphony Orchestra, the Kansas Honor String
Orchestra at FHSU provides an opportunity for string players to
engage in first-rate music making and get the best orchestral
instruction available from FHSU faculty.
The two-day weekend includes intensive rehearsals, sectionals
led by FHSU faculty, and a performance with FHSU orchestra students
and faculty. Performances take place in the state of the art performing
facility, Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center, located on the
FHSU campus.
The 12th Annual FHSU Honor Orchestra Festival at FHSU will be
held on February 1st and 2nd, 2008.
This year’s soloist is Matt Means, Professor of Violin and
Viola at FHSU.
