Working together, history can come alive. Fort Hays State University and the Ellis County Historical Society collaborated on an exhibit about Leora B. Stroup at the historical society’s museum. Stroup, who arrived at FHSU in 1952 to start a nursing program at the university, was the director and only faculty member that first year with 16 students.

The Global Leadership Project at Fort Hays State University will host a community action poverty simulation (CAPS) at 1p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, in the Fort Hays Ballroom in the Memorial Union. This learning tool was created as a way to help people understand the realities of poverty. Three billion people in the world live in poverty, or on less than $2.50 a day.
