FHSU ranks among nation's top 10 in online marketing and psychology programs
The
marketing and psychology programs at Fort Hays State University were
recently named among the top online programs in the nation, according to
the Online Education Database's 2013 Online College Rankings.
FHSU's marketing program was ranked second and the psychology program was ranked sixth.
Beginning with more
than 3,000 schools, OEDb's researchers initially compiled a list of
schools offering online learning as of November 2012, based on the
National Center for Education Statistics' College Navigator database. It
defined online schools as those that offer at least one degree program
that can be earned completely online, are accredited by an agency
recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and are listed on College
Navigator.
OEDb calculated 11
different rankings to reflect the tremendous growth in online education
and provide more guidance for students in their intended area of study
in nursing, psychology, business administration, marketing, accounting,
education, paralegal studies, criminal justice, computer science,
information technology and graphic design.
Final rankings were
compiled based on the key metrics including cost, selectivity in
admissions, history of reputable accreditation, student loan default,
institutional financial aid, graduation, retention, job placement rate
and ratio of full-time to part-time faculty members.
OEDb, one of the
earliest publishers to rank online colleges, with its first release in
2007, considers itself the premier repository of online education data.
OEDb is a private, for-profit entity.
