Fringe Theatre Company to perform
mystery dinner theatre
Be
spellbound by Agatha Christie's murder mystery play "The Mousetrap,"
performed by the Fort Hays State University Fringe Theatre Company
beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Fox Pavilion, 1202 Main.
"This is the
perfect night to bring a special friend or date to join you to enjoy the
evening," said Dr. Brittany Howel, associate professor of agriculture.
Initially performed
as a radio play in 1952, "The Mousetrap" opens with a radio account of a
woman murdered in London. The action then moves to Monkswell Manor,
recently converted to an inn by Mollie and Giles Ralston as they
anticipate the arrival of their first four guests. When the detective
arrives, each character is scrutinized and suspected.
Tickets are
available at the Memorial Union Student Service Center and Malloy Hall
Box Office, from any Rotary member, or the Chamber of Commerce for $35
each. Reservations will be taken for tables of eight.
The meal will
consist of your choice of honey pecan chicken, Traeger roasted sirloin
beef, twice-baked potatoes, bacon-almond green beans and a mixed-greens
tossed salad with choice of toppings and followed by cheesecake for
dessert.
Proceeds benefit Hays Rotary Club service projects including literacy, polo plus, community parks and paint-a-thon.
