Career services to host teacher mock
interview day
Seniors and juniors in education fields will have the opportunity to
gain valuable interviewing practice when Fort Hays State University's
Career Services sponsors the annual Teacher Mock Interview day Friday,
Feb. 8, in Sheridan Hall, room 214.
Representatives
from Salina and WaKeeney school districts and Dr. Jim Barrett, chair of
the Department of Advanced Education Programs, will conduct the
interviews. Students will have a networking opportunity and gain
interview experience and valuable feedback on strengths and weaknesses.
Students should bring a resume and dress professionally.
"It's a good way to
make a first impression," said Dan Rice, director of Career Services.
"Over the years, we've even had students offered jobs after a mock
interview. It's a fun exercise and a great opportunity."
Career Services' website, fhsu.edu/careers/ has a variety of information on writing resumes and interviewing skills.
Participants can
sign up for an interview through a Careers for Tigers account or by
contacting Career Services at 785-628-4260.
