Nursing Students and Professors

Unlike most undergraduate programs at Fort Hays State University, you must apply and be admitted to both the University and the RN-to-BSN Program. You will need to complete your application to FHSU prior to enrolling in classes for the first time.

Until you meet all the [Pre-Requisite Requirements], you cannot apply to the RN-to-BSN program. You will, however, have a nursing advisor, who will help you establish your plan of study and determine the appropriate semester to apply to the program.

If you have any questions about the application process, feel free to contact Dr. Carol Moore, the RN-to-BSN coordinator, and she will be more than happy to assist you.

Getting Started: Applying to FHSU

Apply to Fort Hays State University online and pay the one-time $35 application fee. If you have attended FHSU previously, complete the Re-Entry Application, which requires no application fee.

As part of your application to Fort Hays State University, you must have official transcripts sent to FHSU’s Office of the Registrar. Once you have had your transcript(s) forwarded from all previous colleges and universities, contact Amanda Leer in the Registrar’s Office to authorize her to send a copy to the Department of Nursing. Complete the Record of Colleges Attended form and submit to the FHSU Department of Nursing. [Download form] Once you receive your letter of acceptance from FHSU, set up your account on TigerTracks, the system which allows you to enroll in classes. Spend some time going through the TigerTracks tutorial.

Once your transcripts have been reviewed, work with the RN-to-BSN Coordinator to develop a Plan of Study to meet FHSU’s graduation requirements, based on your preferred timetable and your desired course load.

Following your Plan of Study, enroll in courses via TigerTracks Enroll.
