Requirements

What Courses Should You Take?
Take whatever interests you most, but you might also consider
the following advice:
Students preparing for graduate study in LAW are advised to satisfy
the requirements for a certificate of emphasis in Philosophy
of Public Life, and should take PHIL 100, General Logic, PHIL
340, Introduction to Ethics, and some of the introductory law
classes offered through the Department of Political Science and
Justice Studies.
Students preparing for graduate study in Medicine or
in one of the other branches of Health Care are advised to satisfy
the
requirements for the certificate of emphasis in Bioethical Studies.
Students preparing to become primary or secondary school Teachers are advised to satisfy the requirements for the certificate of
emphasis in Philosophy of Values.
Students preparing for graduate study or careers in Religion are advised to satisfy the requirements for the certificate of
emphasis in Philosophy of Religion, and if the students' interests
are in one of the Biblically based religions, also the certificate
of emphasis in Biblical Studies.
Students preparing for graduate study in Philosophy are advised
to satisfy the requirements for the certificate of emphasis in
General Philosophy and certificate of emphasis in Logic and Epistemology.
In addition the student should take PHIL 340, Introduction to
Ethics.
