IDS 400: BIOETHICS
An examination of ethical issues which result from our expanding biological knowledge such as animal rights, genetic testing, biological engineering, abortion, euthanasia, the impact of humans on the environment, and the just allocation of resources.

IDS 401: ETHICAL ISSUES IN THE PROFESSIONS AND BUSINESS
An examination of ethical issues in the professional lives of people in science, education, medicine, law, and business arising from the challenge of maintaining personal integrity in the face of apparent conflicts of duty.
IDS 801: INTRODUCTION TO GRADUATE LIBERAL STUDIES
This is the first course in the 10-hour core required for the Master of Liberal Studies degree. It systematically introduces the M.L.S. program, some key concepts of critical thinking, the idea of liberal studies, and the possible benefits of studying liberally.
IDS 802: WAYS OF KNOWING IN COMPARATIVE PERSPECTIVES
This is the second course in the 10-hour core required for the Master of Liberal Studies degree. It systematically introduces the student to the different standards and procedures for coming to have knowledge in the humanities, arts, social sciences, and physical sciences.
PHIL 100 - GENERAL LOGIC (3 hours)
An introdution to induction, deduction, and common fallacies, the primatry aim of the course being to develop skill in applying basic principles of sound reasoning.
PHIL 120: INTRODUCTION TO PHILOSOPHY
An introduction to perennial philosophical questions concerning topics such as knowledge, doubt, God, freedom, necessity, good and evil, immortality, time, the cosmos, and the meaning of life, and to some of the most noteworthy attempts to answer them.
PHIL 680 TOPICS IN PHILOSOPHY
Survey of Women Philosophers. A Riddle: What would you call a woman who learned a dozen languages, graduated with a law degree from Utrecht University, studied medicine, taught philosophy, wrote books, and in her spare time was a sculptor and painter of note? Unmarriageable. At least that’s what Anna Maria von Schürmann’s mother thought. Despite mom’s angst, her Renaissance daughter eventually had the world knocking on her Dutch doors. Celebrity eggheads like Descartes exchanged ideas with Anna Maria --- from Uppity Women of Medieval Times by Vicki Leon.
