Crime Log Archive

 Home >  University Police >

Federal law requires that every university that "maintains a police or security department of any kind shall make, keep, and maintain a daily log, written in a form that can easily be understood, recording all crimes reported to such police or security department" including the nature, date, time and general location of each crime and the disposition of the complaint, if known. The law requires that this initial information be open for public inspection within two business days of the report of the crime unless the release of the information would jeopardize an ongoing investigation, cause a suspect to flee or result in the destruction of evidence. It also requires new information about the entries be made available within two business days.

All crimes reported to the FHSU Police Department are included in this log. The crime log may be viewed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Center of Public Safety, Custer Hall Room 112. Every attempt will be made to have the log updated by 10:00 a.m. Monday through Friday.
