Internships
Internship
in Political Science (POLS 689)
Political Science majors are required to take at least one credit
hour of internship during their undergraduate careers. An internship
is a hands-on experience in applying the concepts learned in coursework
to the practical field. Students in all tracks are responsible for
arranging their own internships, though they should first contact
the internship coordinator and/or advisor for insight into what kinds of internships are acceptable.
Internships should align with the track in which a
student is enrolled. For instance, a Political Management major
should seek an internship working with a lobbyist or a political
campaign. Pre-Law majors would find appropriate internships with
law firms or legal advocacy groups.
