Key Things You Should Know
- Political Science is a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree at FHSU.
- Every FHSU student must complete the 55-hour General Education Program (or community college articulation agreement).
- Every B.A. Degree from a Kansas Board of Regents University must meet the 10-hour Modern Language Requirement.
- The Political Science major at FHSU is a 40-hour program:

  • Core Courses for the major = 22 hours
  • Concentration courses for the major = 18 hours
- Students may pursue multiple areas of concentration.

Levels of Analysis    
POLS 101 American Government 3 hrs.
POLS 230 Introduction to International Relations 3 hrs.
POLS 180 Introduction to Public Policy 3 hrs.
Theory    
PHIL 201 Political Philosophy 3 hrs.
Methods    
POLS 455 Research Methods 3 hrs.
Concentrations   18 hrs.
You must complete a minimum of 9 hours in each of two concentration areas. You can claim a certificate in each of the areas. At present the only two concentrations available for the online degree are:
  - Legal Studies/Pre-law
  - Public Administration
