This course has three objectives.  One objective is to introduce you to FHSU.  Another objective is to introduce you to political science and political science instructors.  A third objective is to have fun.  Each day you attend class you will earn 100 points.  You may also be given various assignments during the semester.  To earn an "A" in this class, you will need at least 90% of the total possible points. To earn a "B" in this class, you will need at least 83% of the total possible points.  To earn a "C" in this class, you will need at least 73% of the possible points.  To earn a "D" in this class, you will need to earn at least 63% of the total possible points. No late assignments will be accepted.  There are no required books, but two that you may find useful are
James N. Danziger. 2001. Understanding the Political World, Fifth Edition.
John W. Santrock and Jane S. Halonen. 2002. Your Guide to College Success With Infotrac:  Strategies for Achieving Your Goals, 2nd Ed. Wadsworth.
Each of you will receive a free copy of Careers and the Study of Political Science, Sixth Edition.  Links from that book are included in the syllabus and can be accessed by availing yourself of the on-line version of the syllabus and clicking on the links.  A tentative 'activities schedule' will accompany this syllabus.
