Political Management Curriculum Matrix

Students in the FHSU Political Management track will take a mixture of specialized political campaign courses and traditional political science classes in their major. Students will take the following courses in their concentration:

Curriculum

Required Courses: 3 credit hours

All students are required to take the core campaign management class before graduation

1. Political Campaign Management (POLS 660)

Menu Courses: 9 credit hours

You may choose from any of the following. You will choose three classes of three credit hours each.

1. Interest Groups and Lobbying (POLS 665)	2. Polling and Public Opinion (POLS 663)
3. Political Communication (POLS 662)	4. Political Parties (POLS 602)
5. Political Behavior (POLS 552)	6. The Congress (POLS 601)
7. The Presidency (POLS 600)

Suggested Outside Courses: 3 credit hours

While not a requirement of the major, students are strongly encouraged to take an addition three credit hours in one of the following areas. Another course can be added at the student's discretion.

3. Marketing Principles (MKT 301)	4. News Reporting (COMM 240)
5. Managerial Accounting (ACCT 204)	6. Advertising (COMM 547)
