About Chapman Rackaway

Dr. Chapman Rackaway, associate professor of political science, began at FHSU in 2003. Professor Racakway received his bachelor of arts degree in political science with a minor in German from Millikin University, Decatur, IL, his master of arts and his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Missouri. Rackaway has previously served as an adjunct professor of political science at Columbia College.

Professor Rackaway has previously served as adjunct faculty at Lincoln University, State Fair Community College, and the University of Missouri. Dr. Rackaway also served as Department Chair of the Political Science Department at Linn State Technical College from 1998 to 2001.

Dr. Rackaway serves the FHSU campus on the Research Environment Committee, the Faculty Senate, American Democracy Project, as President of the Faculty Research Association, and as faculty advisor to the Interfraternity Council, and College Republicans.

Teaching Areas

Dr. Chapman Rackaway specializes in campaign management, elections, and political parties. He is the advisor for students in FHSU's Political Management track of the Political Science major.

Research

Chapman Rackaway is an active researcher in political parties, campaigns and voting behavior, civic participation, and media and politics.

Professor Rackaway has published research in the Journal of Politics Social Science Computer Review, Journal of Political Science Education, and PS: Political Science and Politics. He is also a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Political Science Association (APSA), the Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA), the Western Political Science Association (WPSA), and the American Association of Political Consultants.
