An excellent resource is Careers and the Study of Political Science, Sixth Edition (2001), published by the American Political Science Association. ISBN: 1-878147-30-7.  This booklet provides a number of web sites pertaining to job and internship opportunities and is relatively inexpensive.  Click  here to order.

'All purpose' employment web sites

     America's Job Bank you can look for a job in any state of the union or do a search by job type
     Careers in government includes links to jobs inside and outside the U.S.
     Employment and Training Administration of the Department of Labor
     Financenet.gov includes information about jobs at all levels of government and about private sector jobs,
         it includes links to sites such as Fedworld (see below)
     Govtjobs.com includes links to government jobs in state and local governments
     PSE-net.com includes jobs at all levels of government, plus it has a mock civil service exam
     Statejobs.com provides a map; click on the preferred state, includes jobs in the private sector
        (not every state had a link when I tried)
     Yahoo's web site for employment opportunities
