Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting & Information Systems

Position Announcement

Position Available:  Tenure track faculty

Rank:  Assistant/Associate Professor

Appointment Date:  Fall 2007

Duties:  The faculty member is responsible for teaching four three-hour courses (12 credit hours) each semester at lower- and upper-division levels in the Accounting major. Some courses may be delivered in an electronic learning environment. Course work may include, but is not limited to, the following:  Accounting Theory, Auditing, Advanced Auditing, Advanced Theory, CPA Problems and Forensic Auditing. Academic advising and service work in the department, college, and university are expected. Scholarly activity that results in presentations, articles in proceedings, and/or peer-reviewed journal articles is also required. Annual faculty evaluation is based on teaching and advising (60%), service (20%), and research (20%).

Education: All applicants must have a Ph.D. or D.B.A., or be ABD with expectations of finishing the dissertation within a reasonable time.  Professional certification as a C.P.A. is required, and a record of successful teaching is desirable.

Experience:  Teaching and relevant work experience in business/industry is desirable.
