Position Description: Full-time, temporary position
to teach Business Law
Overview: This is a nine-month full time temporary
position in the Department of Management and Marketing in the College
of Business and Leadership.
Duties: The normal teaching load is 12 hours
per semester, at the undergraduate level. Teaching mediated and
distance-learning classes is expected. Faculty members are expected
to engage in scholarly research and publication, participate in
departmental and university activities, and provide academic advising.
Qualifications: A J.D. in law is preferred. Demonstrated
teaching excellence, both in the classroom and in mentoring students
outside the classroom, with outstanding communication skills is
required. The successful candidate must be a U.S. citizen or eligible
for employment in the U.S.
Environment: Hays has a population of approximately
20,000 excluding the University. It is located midway between Kansas
City and Denver on Interstate 70. FHSU is a comprehensive regional
university responsible for service to the western two-thirds of
the State of Kansas. It has an approximate enrollment of more than
8,000 students. It offers undergraduate and graduate programs in
a variety of majors, including professional programs in teaching,
business, and nursing. The College of Business and Leadership is
currently seeking accreditation by the AACSB. The College has 40
faculty positions.
