Information Assurance in the Department of Information
Networking and Telecommunications
Position Announcement
DEADLINE: Review of applications will being June 11, 2007 and
will continue until the position is filled.
REQUIREMENTS: A candidate must possess a doctorate or have earned
a masters degree and must be in the progress of earning a doctorate. Masters
candidates must commit to obtaining a doctorate before becoming
tenured. Graduate degrees must be in the information sciences.
The successful candidate will have expertise in networks and network
security. Familiarity with NSA 4011 and other standards is
valuable as are industry certifications in information security.
Expertise in computer forensics is also a potential asset. Creativity
and a desire to learn and to teach are crucial in this position.
A successful candidate will provide evidence of the ability and
desire to meet the performance expectation outlined below.
DUTIES: This is a tenure track position. Fort
Hays State University faculty typically perform their duties on
a 60% teaching, 20% scholarship, and 20% service, division of labor. Faculty
generally teach four courses a semester. This division of
work duties may be modified through negotiation between the faculty
member and the Department Chair when such change in assignment
will mutually benefit the faculty member and INT Department. The
faculty member will instruct courses including: Foundations
of Information Systems Security, Fundamentals of Network Security,
Network Security Firewalls, Seminar in Information Networking/IT
Project Management, Professional Topics in Information Networking/Graduate
Research Methods in Information Networking, and Capstone Seminar
in Information Assurance.
