Administrative Positions
Position Available:
This is an unclassified, supervisory position.
Design, production, and maintenance of the Mediated Classrooms and Faculty Support
in Using the Classrooms
- Train faculty in using the Mediated Classrooms
(prepare documentation, conduct brief training sessions).
- Answer trouble calls from faculty when they
use the classrooms.
- Select components to include in the standard Mediated Classrooms
- Maintain the equipment in the classrooms and manage the inventory
of equipment.
- Order new equipment as necessary.
- Manage the Mediated Classroom budget and submit Action Plans
for on-going funding.
- Research and acquire new equipment. Present
options to the CTC Director and to ITPAC (Instructional Technology
Policy Advisory Committee).
- Assist in classroom and computer lab redesign (the Mobile Computing
Initiative will require changes in furniture and classroom design)
- Participate in ITPAC
Provide Mac Support
- Serve as the contact for faculty and Departments for information
on Mac hardware and software.
- Support the Mac servers in the CTC.
- Support iTunes University (or other alternatives
for podcasting)
Manage the Media Checkout Area
- Hire, train, and supervise students
- Manage the checkout budget
- Maintain the equipment
- Manage the inventory of equipment
Work with Staff Member
- Assist with wiring, switch design, and audio and video as needed.
- Assist with special projects involving audio
and video.
Required Qualifications, Interests and Skills
- Preference given to applicants with a Bachelor’s
Degree
- Working knowledge of Mac and PC operating systems
- Mac and PC wired and wireless networking setup and use
- Microsoft Office applications, Internet Browsers, and some
familiarity with other software applications typically used in
an academic setting
- Diagnostic Skills (computer, video projector, sound systems,
control switches, simple networking)
- Verbal and written communication skills
(for teaching faculty how to use the equipment and working
with faculty to solve problems over the phone and in the classroom)
- Interest in and desire to work with audio visual systems
Desirable Skills
- Basic programming skills (for understanding the touch screen
controls)
- Basic knowledge of electricity and wiring concepts (for solving
connection issues with video projectors and sound systems)
