Position Available:
Technology Support Specialist
The Center for Teaching Excellence and Learning Technologies
at Fort Hays State University (FHSU) invites applications for a
regular full-time position of Technology Support Specialist. This
position reports to the Director of Center for Teaching Excellence
and Learning Technologies.
Minimum requirement: The Technology
Support Specialist must 1) possess a bachelor’s degree
in computer science, instructional technology or related areas
by May 2007; 2) have working knowledge of course management system
administration and experience troubleshooting high-level problems
with Blackboard or other equivalent course management systems;
3) have experience providing faculty consultations, technical
support or training 4) have excellent spoken and written communication
skills, including experience writing process documentation or
workshop documentation; and 5) have demonstrated customer service
skills.
Preferred requirement: A master’s
degree in instructional technology or related field, basic programming
knowledge, web development experience, and familiarity with higher
education working environments.
The appointment will be effective on or before August 1, 2007.
Salary is competitive based on educational background and work
