University Faculty Awards
Outstanding Teaching Award
Outstanding Research Award
Outstanding Service Award
Teaching, research, and service are central to the mission
of Fort Hays State University. To recognize those faculty members
who exemplify excellence in these areas, the University offers a
series of awards. Each semester, faculty members will have the opportunity
to be nominated by their colleagues for the Outstanding Teaching
Award ($500), the Outstanding Research Award ($500), and the Outstanding
Service Award ($500).
Faculty Member of the Year
(nominations taken from Outstanding Teaching, Research, and Service
Awards; selected by Provost's Council and presented at General Faculty
meeting in the month of August of the next academic year by president
of the university and president of Commerce Bank)
Edmund Shearer Advisor of the Year
(selected by Provost's Council and presented at General Faculty
Meeting in the month of August of the next academic year by president
of the university and president of Commerce Bank)
Pilot Award
(Faculty are nominated by the students and the recipient is selected
by the Alumni Office. Presentation of award is made at the May Commencement
ceremonies.)
Navigator Award
(Faculty advisors are nominated by the students and the recipient
is selected by the Academic Advising Committee. Presentation of
award is made at the May Commencement ceremonies.)
President's Distinguished Scholar Award
(Nominations are made by faculty and the recipient is selected by
a committee of past recipients of the award. Presentation of award
is made at the General Faculty meeting in August.)
